With the amount of skyscrapers in the city, you don’t have to look far to find one that has a swimming pool on top. Most of Hong Kong life is conducted not on street level, but up in the clouds. So whilst the thermometer is climbing, why not consider cooling off on the top of some of the most impressive buildings in the city in one of the best swimming pools in the world?
This infinity pool is the highest swimming pool in the world, on the 118th floor of the Ritz-Carlton and standing at 484 metres. Those with vertigo might want to look elsewhere as the heights are dizzying, but if you can stomach it, it is well worth the climb. The roof of the pool is made up of hundreds of LED screens which display coral reefs, blue skies and other scenes from nature. If you want to brave the outdoors, there’s an outdoor whirlpool too.
This swimming pool is located 692 foot above ground and on the 76th floor of the W Hotel. The view spans the city and the harbour, and you can also enjoy a drink from the poolside bar. The lounge chairs are among the most comfortable anywhere and the views are unparalleled. They also hold regular pool parties if you want to mix socialising, enjoying the city and pool time. During the summer months, they have a barbecue and pool goers can also use the gym facilities.
This one is definitely not for the faint-hearted as the infinity pool at Hotel Indigo has a glass bottom, located 29 floors up in the air. Part of the pool is built to hang over the street below so you have a bird’s eye view of the streets below. It seems that this pool was built especially for Instagram selfies, so make sure you have someone who can take a photo of you from below.
The Four Seasons infinity pool is heated all year round so it is like swimming in warm bathwater and even better, they have underwater speakers so you can hear music beneath the surface. They also have a pool for people who prefer to swim laps, a plunge pool and a whirlpool.
On the 42nd floor is probably one of the best pools for a pool party in all of Hong Kong. Equipped with underwater speakers, lights and a jacuzzi, the wellness pool is among one of the most relaxing in the city. Whether it’s for a party, to see the city or to relax, the Cordis pool is stunning and you will be sure to keep coming back.
The Metropark pool is something out of dreams. The views across the bay are unobstructed and on a clear day, the glass-sided pool offers views that are absolutely spectacular. The jacuzzi also offers an incredible view and is perfect for a moment of calm.
